Welcome to the East Coast African American Children’s Book Club
We’re thrilled to have you join our community. Our mission is to empower young minds through literature, celebrating both Black history and American history. Here’s what you can expect during our one-year program:
Books and Mentors: Each child will receive a carefully selected book, along with a dedicated mentor coach. Together, we’ll explore the rich narratives that shape our past and present.
Monthly Discussions: Our mentor coaches will connect with each child monthly to discuss the book. We encourage questions, thoughtful reflections, and lively conversations. These interactions will help nurture critical thinking skills and broaden perspectives.
Discovering Roots: Through our readings, we’ll delve into the roots of our heritage. Children will learn about the struggles, triumphs, and contributions of African Americans throughout history. Understanding where we come from is essential for shaping a brighter future.
Unity and Collaboration: Our club emphasizes unity. By learning together, we recognize that our shared history connects us all. We’ll explore how collaboration and understanding can bridge gaps and build stronger communities.
Awards and Certificates: At the program’s end, each child will earn a well-deserved award. Their dedication to learning and growth will be celebrated. Additionally, a certificate will commemorate their journey.
Black History Presentations: As part of our commitment to knowledge sharing, children will have the opportunity to present on a black history topic of their choice. Whether it’s a remarkable figure, an event, or a cultural aspect, they can choose what resonates with them.
Thank you for being part of our vibrant community. Let’s embark on this literary adventure together
